Reissue – PPP Easter

This is a reissue of the Easter PPP sent out on April 10, 2020.

From the house number in the background, this is probably Mac and Hilda’s place at 274 S Roxford Drive in Beverly Hills, which would make the year either 1938 or 1939.

Left to right: Adolph Matthiensen, with Bertha Matthiensen partially hidden behind Gerry McNamara’s head.  Adolph and Bertha are Hilda’s parents.  And that’s Hilda to the right of Gerry.  The note on the back of the photo says, “The other couple are Mac’s cousins from Omaha when they were here we took the others Easter morning”.  Love to know who those cousins are.

The next two are of Gerry posing with Easter bunnies.   Same time frame.

Next is a 1955 Easter photo of the Kerbrats.

When I first posted this, I tried to identify the folks in the photo.  Paul Kerbrat wrote back,

“I’ve numbered the people in the 1955 Easter photo.”

1.            Frank Kerbrat

2.            Aline Seydoux

3.            My mom Mary

4.            Ozanna Kerbrat

5.            My dad Art

6.            My sister Bonnie

7.            My sister Sandy

8.            Me

9.            Edward Seydoux

10.         Denise Seydoux

11.         Alice Kerbrat

12.         My brother Steve

13.         Allen Seydoux (I think)

I have no idea who the other 3 people are.

Neither do I Paul.  The fellow in the shadows on the far left looks like he’s dressed as a priest.

Cousin Denise (who is in the photo) wrote,

“In the ‘55 photo Paul Identified the three Seydoux kids. Alan would have been just 1, little cutie. I’m Right in the middle making a face- still my MO. Eddie on the left.

Lee Watkins contributed…

In the Easter, 1955 photo I would assume the two girls next to Art are Bonnie & Sandy, Art’s step-daughters. His first wife, Mary should be there somewhere.

It’s nice to do these reissues, as I can get all the comments in that I received the first time around.

This is a sweet photo of my mother’s parents, Ozanna and Frank Kerbrat.

The next two are from Easter 1965 in front of our house on Garfield in Culver City.  The first one, that is me on the left, and to the right my brothers Pat and Kevin and sister Martina.  In the second one there we are with Hilda (Nana).

Below is an 1882 Easter photo taken in the dining area of Mom and Dad’s place at 4520 Commonwealth Circle in Culver City.  The girl between them is my daughter Christina (she now has two grown kids of her own), and the little one below I am told is Amy (brother Pat’s daughter).

Below, Easter 2004.  The whole clan.

Below: Easter 2008 in Michelle’s backyard.  I took this photo, and it’s one of my favorites.  Sister Martina, sister-in law Donna, my Elsebeth, Mom (Louise) and sister Michelle.  All moms here.

I will always miss those days when we all got together.

In my original post, I included the non-Easter photo below as a special Easter treat for Pete Petersen.  Pete is the son of Hilda’s older sister Emma, who I referred to in my recent Matthiensen/Iowa post.

It is a 1940 photo of my Dad (Gerry) with the words “To Harold” and “over” on the front.  On the back side it says, “ ‘Jimmy Foxx’ McNamara of the Boston Red Sox what do you think of my new first baseman’s mitt?  Bob”.

Gerry was referred to as Bob or Bobby back when he was boy.

Thinking of you all.  Stay well and happy.  Remember, it all becomes a little easier with the help of friends and family.

Much Love and Happy Easter,

Mike
